A lot is happening this month. Because schools are back in session, we are sharing weekend events with you, assuming that’s when people have more free time!

Mountain Bike Festival
Date: Sep 6, 2019 - Sep 8, 2019

Admission: Free event entry with a valid Bike Park day lift ticket
Location: Alyeska Resort

Celebrate a summer's worth of mountain biking, with a weekend full of fun events, challenging competitions and the camaraderie of fellow bikers. Register at least 60 minutes in advances at the Daylodge Bike Hub. The Mountain Bike Festival means four days of competition, music, demos, workshops, and - of course - riding the Alyeska Bike Park! Events include the Pond Crossing and Alyeska Downhill State Championship Race.


Anchorage Welcoming Week Community Celebration
Date: Sep 14, 2019
Times: noon - 6 p.m.
Admission: Free
Location: Anchorage Museum

Join community organizations, artists and performers to kick-off Anchorage’s Welcoming Week. Watch performances on the museum lawn (weather-permitting), visit with community organizations and draw inspiration from community leadership addresses. Explore the museum collection through docent tours in Chinese or Spanish. Enjoy free admission to the museum sponsored by Wells Fargo (Death in the Ice and planetarium program fees still apply).

Alyeska Climbathon       
Date: Sep 14, 2019
Times: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Location: Alyeska Tramway - Alyeska Resort

Climb for a cause! The Alyeska Climbathon is an endurance event where participants will walk, hike, and run up the steep North Face Trail of Mount Alyeska and ride the tram down as many times as possible from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. This event is a fundraiser for local charities. Walk to End Alzheimer’s       
Date: Sep 14, 2019
Times: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Admission: Registration is free, fundraise $100 for a T-shirt
Location: Kincaid Chalet

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease. The route is family and dog-friendly.
