Alaska State Fair
August 22-September 3, 2019
Food, drinks, and fun fill the days of the Alaska State Fair. This year, performers include Slightly Stoopid, Cole Swindell, Dustin Lynch, and Elle King.
August 1-23 - every Thursday, 12:10-12: 50 pm and Friday, 6-7:30 am
Admission: Free or $5 donation is appreciated
Location: 5th & B Parking Garage - The Rooftop
Stay loose and fit with yoga on the Rooftop all summer long. This short session will include some flow, restorative, and longer yin yoga holds in various postures (asanas). Come with any special requests and expect something new each time. Free, but a
$5 donation is appreciated. Bring a yoga mat if you have one and dress appropriately for the weather.
Byron Glacier Hike

Recurring weekly on Sunday, Friday, Saturday from 2-4 pm
Byron Glacier Trailhead
Join staff from the Begich, Boggs Visitor Center for a short hike to Byron Glacier in Chugach National Forest. Hikes take place throughout the summer months on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons. Meet at the Begich, Boggs Visitor Center by 1:45 p.m.
or at the Byron Glacier trailhead at 2 p.m. The trail is 0.8 miles long one-way with a mild elevation gain of 100 feet.
Pop-Up Yoga in Town Square Park
August 9, 5:15-6:30pm
Town Square Park
Anchorage Yoga + Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd. will be hosting a fun-filled and free vinyasa-infused yoga class for the community in the fresh Alaska air. Bring a mat and a smile.
Cash and check donations will be accepted at the event in support of our AYC Lost Lake team reaching their goal of $17,000 by August 20 to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Anchorage Run Fest

A weekend full of running! Race distances include 1 mile, 2K kids' run, 5K, half marathon, marathon, and 49K Ultra.

Join us for the 12th Annual Blueberry Festival, a celebration of the lush blueberry season. This family-oriented outdoors event features live music, berry picking, local arts, and crafts booths, tasty blueberry treats, beer and wine garden, hiking and
biking, pie-eating contest, blueberry creations contest and more. Whether you're in the mood for a funnel cake or fine art, the local vendors will have what you're looking for!
