It’s time to get cleaning! We’re not sure how you feel, but we love giving our home a considerable clean up every spring. From decluttering, to dusting, to scrubbing every nook and cranny, it makes your house feel like new at the start of a new season.
Here are our must-do items for spring cleaning:
Vacuum – Vacuum all rugs, carpets, and floors. You can even vacuum furniture whether it's wooden or fabric to remove debris and dust. We suggest doing any flooring cleaning such as vacuuming
last because your floor can collect more dust as you clean the items above and around it.
Dust – Walls, mirrors, and the tops of shelves are often forgotten about while dusting. Dust them in addition to your shelves, tables, and virtually any hard surface.
Declutter – Throwing away all broken items and old papers is a great way to start your decluttering. Next, go through your clothing and give away any unused items and throw away ruined
items that can’t be salvaged. Any knickknacks or pieces of décor and furniture that no longer serve a purpose should also be donated. The less you have in your house, the easier it is to upkeep, that’s why decluttering at LEAST once a year is so vital
for home maintenance!
Empty Cupboards – Empty all your shelves and cupboards and properly dust and clean them before putting the items back in. You’ll likely find things
you no longer need that can be given away. You’ll kill two birds with one stone, clean and declutter!
Wash – All linens, towels, rugs, carpets, floors, and windows should be washed this time of year. Winter weather brings water and dirt into your house, and it ends up everywhere. A good
wash of all your items will bring you a fresh start for Spring.
