The month of February is officially “Chocolate Lover’s Month,” and we are here to celebrate it. Good chocolate should be consumed on more than just Valentine’s Day, so we’ve put together a list of places to get the tastiest chocolates in Alaska!

Sweet Chalet– Artisan chocolates and confectionaries, this local shop serves a variety of sweet products. From homemade fudge and truffles to chocolate covered Oreos, a chocolate lover will surely have enough options to choose from. They are open Monday through Saturdays, 10am-6pm. All products are made in house.

Alaska Wild Berry Products– All products from this shop are made right here in Alaska. They have boxes and baskets available for pre-order for Valentines, or you can go inside and look at their counters full of options.

Flying Dutchman European Pastry Shop– Home to delicious homemade cakes and pastries, this shop is stable for good chocolate. They even have gluten free cake options to suit those with food allergies. Ben Koper, the founder of the Flying Dutchman, came from the Netherlands in 1964 to Alaska. He was trained in the art of pastry making and took his European culinary skills to America to open a shop that reflected the tastes of his homeland. Note – the shop is closed on Sundays and Mondays, but you can place an order on Mondays to pick something up on Tuesday.

Alaska Cake Studio– Cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and tarts galore. The Alaska Cake Studio offers catering, baking classes, pre-ordering online, and custom cakes for all events! If you are looking to order a custom item for a loved one this month look no further. Just scroll their options online, and you will find yourself starting to get hungry. https://akcake.com
