Every Saturday in February from 3-5pm: Westchester Lagoon
Come skate with other Anchorage residents. Free skating with warming barrels, hot chocolate, and music. Special skate assist devices are available for kids new to skating. Note that skate rentals aren't available on-site; check Play it Again Sports for
Icy River Rampage
February 2nd, 11 am: Eagle River Nature Center
This 20- or 10-mile winter bike race is a fundraiser for the Nature Center. The race starts and ends at the center with the route taking along the Eagle River. If you don’t want to race but still participate, you can join in on the mellow 10-mile ride
starting after the race ends at 2:30 pm.
Alaska Ski for Women
February 3rd, 10:30 am: Kincaid Park
Calling all females! Participate in North America’s largest women-only Nordic ski event! Ski for Women has a two-fold mission: encourage women of all ages and abilities to take part in an organized Nordic skiing event and raise money to support local
nonprofit organizations that provide safe harbor and support services for women and children affected by domestic abuse.
World Championship Sled Dog Race
February 22-24, 12pm: Rondy
Sprint mushing at its best opens the annual Anchorage Fur Rendezvous festival. Mushers and their teams race the 25-mile course on three consecutive times. Shortest aggregate time wins. Watch from the start-finish line in downtown Anchorage or
along the course, which travels on Anchorage streets and trail system.
Frostbite Footrace and Costume Fun Run
February 23, 9:30 am: 5thAve and F Street
Dress up and hit the pavement for a Saturday morning family event! 5K or 2.5K Fun Run, there’s a time and pace for everyone. Put your creativity hat on and don an outrageous getup for the Costume Contest - great prizes for groups, families, and
individuals! The race begins at the Fifth Avenue Skywalk (in front of Egan Center). Awards handed out shortly after the race concludes.
Fur Rondy Grand Parade
February 23, 10:30am: Downtown Anchorage
Join all of Anchorage for a community parade on the first weekend of Rondy. Fur Rendezvous royalty, floats, mascots, bands and more join the procession.
This time-honored festival that celebrates the joys of winter in Alaska.
