For the mountain loving, city working person! Anchorage is the largest city in Alaska yet only a short drive from the open wilderness and mountain peaks. If you are moving to Anchorage there are plenty of things to do indoors and out to keep you happy all year.

Kincaid Park – The best trails for walking, biking, and hiking plus many playgrounds for kids! Everyone in the family will find something they enjoy at Kincaid Park. You feel like you are out in the wild but will be so close to the city.

Alaska Zoo – The Alaska Zoo hosts events for kids weekly. You will see animals you want to see in Alaska without being scared of being in the wild with them. Most of the animals have been orphaned or injured and are being taken care of in the zoo.

Chugach State Park –Walk to Lake Eklutna for endless views! Seriously, we can’t recommend these views enough.

Cook Inlet – Great mountain and ocean scenery. See wildlife and some of the most breathtaking sunsets you could imagine! Great for any age.

Moose’s Tooth Pub and Pizzeria – If you are moving to Anchorage this will become your local pizza place! Make sure to get reservations as it is very popular!

Midnight Sun Brewing Co – Some would say Midnight Sun has the best local beers in Alaska. The food and beer are equally delicious. You’ll find locals and tourists filling up this place fast!

Dark Horse Coffee Co – The perfect place to have a coffee and bring your laptop. It is a charming shop with good music and a funky vibe.

Anchorage Yoga – If you are looking for a relaxing indoor activity head to Anchorage Yoga. They offer a variety of classes for all levels. The teachers are amazing, and you will quickly feel a part of the community.
